Oceanside’s dining scene just got a little more irresistible. Little Fawn, the newest addition to the historic Fin Hotel, blends mid-century warmth, neighborhood charm, and inventive California–Mediterranean cooking into a restaurant that already feels like a hidden gem.

Little Fawn comes from Jon Rhinerson, the former Encinitas restaurateur (Échalé!) and LA clothing designer whose work once dressed celebrities like Usher and Hayden Panettiere. Now, he brings the same discerning eye to hospitality — every detail is curated, from the lighting and sound to the natural wine list and cozy mid-century ambiance.
Rhinerson’s Lebanese roots subtly inform the menu, while his designer sensibility shows up in the space’s sultry glow, thoughtful textures, and that unmistakable “favorite neighborhood spot” energy.
Alongside him is Executive Chef Seth Tuma, a Louisiana-born talent with experience at La Valencia, Fox Restaurant Concepts, and Échalé! Tuma’s cooking bridges Southern comfort with California seasonality and Mediterranean brightness, resulting in food that feels both familiar and delightfully unexpected.

Little Fawn’s menu leans into bold flavors, seasonal ingredients, and a “share, relax, enjoy” philosophy. Early standouts include:
Chef Tuma describes the approach simply: “Approachable dishes, fresh ingredients, and flavors that surprise without ever feeling fussy.”

The beverage program mirrors Rhinerson’s taste — thoughtfully curated spirits like Del Maguey mezcal, Smith & Cross rum, and Widow Jane 10-Year bourbon pair with a list of natural wines and both classic and signature cocktails.
This isn’t a bar program chasing trends. It’s one built on quality, intention, and a little nostalgia.
Inside the Fin Hotel’s minimalist footprint, the team has carved out a space that feels intimate, warm, and effortlessly cool: think 1970s Porsche meets Oceanside ease. Expect sunlight by day, a cozy glow at night, and a soundtrack of ‘80s rap keeping the energy relaxed but playful.
It’s the kind of place where you’ll see Rhinerson himself greeting guests, adding a personal touch that makes Little Fawn feel like a true neighborhood spot.
