Every day is meat day in La Costa, thanks to The Wise Ox. The sandwich and deli shop opened in June last year and doubles as a high-end butcher and meat market. The Wise Ox is under the Trust Restaurant Group, which oversees such establishments as the Rare Society, Fort Oak, Cardelino, and Trust.
The sandwiches in The Wise Ox are some of the best you’ll ever try. They serve Philly cheesesteaks, dry-aged beef burgers, smoked turkey sandwiches, and smoked bologna sandwiches. In addition to these selections, a sizable retail spot offers wine, craft beer, and choice pantry products by chef and owner Brad Wise.
Besides the sandwiches and delis, patrons can sign up for the Ox Box, a monthly meat program that includes 10 pounds of freshly vacuum-sealed meats.
Please check out The Wise Ox 7750 El Camino Real, Suite P, Carlsbad. The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM and until 5 PM on Sundays and Mondays. Their sandwiches are served until 5 PM.
