If you’re craving a unique culinary escape from North County, let us introduce you to The Vista Sol’s Campfire Dinner Series—a monthly outdoor dining experience tucked into the rolling hills just beyond Temecula Wine Country. With panoramic desert views, artfully plated meals, and the kind of golden hour light you wish you could bottle, these dinners offer the perfect blend of rustic charm and refined hospitality.

Located in Aguanga, about 60–75 minutes from coastal North County, The Vista Sol feels worlds away from the bustle of daily life. The drive alone is part of the experience: winding roads, wide open skies, and glimpses of wildflowers and cacti set the tone for what’s to come. Guests arrive at golden hour and are greeted with a welcome toast before making their way down the dirt path to a communal table nestled in nature.
As the sun begins its descent, casting a warm glow over the valley, the evening truly begins.
The Campfire Dinner series is hosted once a month during the warmer season (April through October) and designed to immerse guests in something far more meaningful than just a meal. (Want a preview of what a dinner feels like? Watch our recap here — and tell us you don’t feel something special!).
Menus change with the seasons and are crafted using locally sourced ingredients—think Peppercorn Tri Tip, vibrant produce from nearby farms, and rustic-yet-refined sides served family-style. Herbs are grown and picked from the on-site garden. Each course is thoughtfully prepared and plated, served with stories and conversation that spark connection.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own wine or beverages of choice, adding a personal touch to an already intimate setting. As night falls and the stars begin to blanket the sky, fire pits crackle and laughter echoes through the canyon.
There’s something about The Vista Sol that feels deeply personal — maybe it’s the family-run spirit, or the way you’re welcomed as if you’ve been invited to dinner at someone’s home.
