The Modern Churro has opened its first store location in Downtown Vista in North County. The cafe will specialize in Cuban coffee while offering a variety of desserts besides churros.
For instance, The Modern Churro offers Cafecito, the Cuban version of espresso. The other variations of the Cafecito are the Cortadito and Cafe con Leche. Instead of espumita (spoonfuls of sugar combined with the first drip of coffee) in the Cafecito, the Cortadito is served with milk, and the Cafe con Leche with steamed milk.
Besides coffee, the cafe also serves cold coffee-based drinks, Boba iced teas, frappes, and fountain drinks. While the churros will always be the signature of The Modern Churro, they also serve Cuban sandwiches with a choice of six side dishes that include Pork Chunks, Fries, Vaca Frita, and Sweet Plantain.
