Roller skating is making a comeback in the heart of Escondido with the opening of a 50′ x 100′ pop-up roller rink constructed from 5,000 square feet of sport court tiles. This new — and temporary — attraction is available for the community to enjoy from December 1 to 28, offering fun for all ages in downtown Escondido.

Made possible by the City of Escondido, the Escondido Downtown Business Association, MAGEC, DayDream Here, and the dedicated efforts of numerous volunteers, the pop-up rink is bringing community spirit to the area just in time for the holidays. This event is in special thanks to the Ramirez family, former owners of the iconic UPS-N-DOWNS Roller Rink, for their support and inspiration behind this community effort.
The roller rink will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 4-8 PM, Saturdays from 12-8 PM, and Sundays from 12-4 PM. Entry is just $5, and skate rentals are available for an additional $5. Bring your own socks or buy them on-site, and kids’ skate rentals include elbow and knee pads, as well as helmets for safety.
