Encinitas: New restaurant Echale has opened on Coast Highway in the Lumberyard shopping center. Menu highlights include Ancho chile-braised oxtail paired with homemade pappardelle, salsa ranchera, and grana padana; as well as chicken tinga served with chipotle salsa, braised turnip and fennel, & caramelized onions.
Echale’s beer & wine list include natural wines from Baja and the Valle. Lunch service includes albondigas, a wagyu pastrami sandwich, oysters, tacos & more. Weekend brunch and surfer’s breakfast coming soon.
Give them a follow on Instagram & head to the new upscale taqueria when your schedule permits. But make note — they don’t take reservations, so tables are first come, first serve. If the reviews are any indication, the meal will be worth the wait.
