A fresh take on American comfort food is coming to the coast. Set to open on Friday, June 20th, Lana is the newest upscale dining destination in Solana Beach, offering a refined yet relaxed culinary experience inspired by the region’s laid-back charm and bountiful local ingredients.

Final touches are currently being placed at 437 South Highway 101 — where Lana will be nestled in the heart of Solana Beach, just steps from the shoreline and Cedros Avenue. The restaurant will bring vintage coastal luxury to life through a thoughtfully designed space, a locally driven menu, and a warm hospitality style that welcomes both residents and visitors.
Lana is the brainchild of seasoned restaurateurs Travis LeGrand and Mark Wheadon, who bring decades of hospitality experience to the new venture. LeGrand is no stranger to San Diego’s dining scene, having helped launch beloved spots like Cucina Urbana, Herringbone, and The Marine Room. Wheadon, a North County local with a global hospitality résumé, has worked with prestigious properties like Sundance Resort, Island Outpost, and the Avalon Hotel.
The pair’s shared passion for exceptional dining and heartfelt service is what drives Lana’s vision — to create a versatile, neighborhood-centric restaurant where upscale cuisine meets relaxed beach town energy.

To help bring their vision to life, the duo tapped acclaimed San Diego chef Jason McLeod to consult on the restaurant’s concept. Executive Chef Chris Ruhl will lead the kitchen, bringing experience from TRUST Restaurant Group, Juniper & Ivy, and Cellar Hand. Ruhl’s strong connections to local farmers, ranchers, and fishers will shape a menu built on fresh, seasonal, and regional ingredients.
Whether you’re stopping by for a leisurely brunch, a sunset cocktail, or a cozy weeknight dinner, Lana will offer a dynamic and ever-evolving menu that reflects the flavors of the coast with an elevated twist.
