Little Victory Goes Big: Carlsbad’s New European-Inspired Natural Wine Bar

The talent behind some of SoCal’s most celebrated kitchens is opening a new Euro-inspired natural wine bar in Carlsbad Village this week: Little Victory Wine Bar.

Rooted in Jeremy Simpson’s deep experience at acclaimed restaurants like Bestia, Jeune et Jolie, and Campfire, the wine program at Little Victory Wine Bar is shaped by a global perspective on gastronomy and a passion for natural wine. Thoughtfully curated to complement the food and foster connection, it’s a beverage program designed for a community-focused “third space” that values both quality and approachability.

Led by acclaimed chefs Elliott and Kelly Townsend, the menu reflects a thoughtful fusion of New Nordic sustainability and Southern California’s seasonal bounty. With European training and a focus on hyper-local sourcing, their dishes bring a refined, globally inspired approach to relaxed coastal dining.

As for the atmosphere?

Conceptualized by co-founder Kirsten Potenza, expect a space that feels effortlessly chic, warm, and thoughtfully curated—blending Nordic minimalism with Parisian charm. Clean lines, natural textures, and vintage accents create a cozy, handcrafted intimacy reminiscent of a neighborhood wine bar tucked away in Copenhagen or Paris.

Little Victory Wine Bar opens Wednesday, April 9th and is now taking reservations.

Location: 505 Oak Avenue, Suite B, Carlsbad 92009
Hours: Weds to Sun 4—10PM
